Erin & Grant

Erin and Grant have known each other since elementary school! Over the school years, their circle of friends grew closer which brought them closer together by their senior year of high school. One day, they happened to be at the same party and that night when Erin got home she was giddy with excitement and couldn't resist texting Grant. From that moment on, their relationship blossomed!

Years later, they were on vacation in Tybee Island, Georgia. One night, they relaxed on a wooden bench swing along the beach by the dunes to watch the sunset. Grant nervously told Erin how much he loves her and he got down on one knee. Erin was overjoyed! "Grant and I always joke because in my state of shock, I kept saying 'oh my gosh, are you serious?' and I think he had to ask again before I actually said 'yes!'"

The couple chose to celebrate their big day at the gorgeous Woodlawn Manor. The ceremony and reception were both outdoors, on a day filled with sunshine and blue skies surrounded by lush trees and gardens. During the ceremony, a romantic mood was set by two violinist and the ceremony was sentimental because Erin's aunt officiated.

Erin helped make the day more unique by putting her personal touches on some DIY projects. She spray painted the bottom third of the centerpiece cases in a champagne color. She took a large mirror and used a paint marker to create an alphabetized seating chart. Erin made all signage, which were simple blank wood signs from Walmart that she wrote on with paint markers. In addition, she created name cards at each place setting, coloring books for younger guests, and the food/beverage menus.

Friends and family enjoyed classic barbecue food at the reception which included barbecue chicken, pulled pork, and pulled beef with coleslaw, green beans, mashed potatoes, and pasta salad. A mixture of beer and wine, as well as sodas, lemonade, tea and water were offered. Dessert included a cupcake bar with seven different flavors. The couple had a small, snickerdoodle flavored cake that they could cut.

Guests had an evening outside to play corn hole, show their skills on the dance floor, and even had a surprise ice cream truck for another dessert option! One of Erin's most memorable moments was when "our DJ let Grant's younger cousin go behind the DJ table, put the headphones on, and act as DJ! You could see how happy and excited he was!"

This was a wonderful, memorable summertime affair that Erin, Grant, and all of their loved ones will cherish forever!
